Abstract

Congenital granular cell epulis (CGCE) is a rare congenital soft tissue lesion which was first described in 1871. Its widest dimension ranges from few millimetres to several centimetres and may cause obstruction to feeding and breathing. We present a case of six days old female with large pedunculated soft tissue mass measuring about 45mm by 30mm on the maxillary alveolar ridge in the right canine region. A clinical diagnosis of CGCE was made and this was confirmed histologically after surgical excision under general anaesthesia.
